David Hone

David Hone is a seasoned professional in the field of climate change and energy solutions, currently serving as Chief Climate Change Adviser for Shell since June 2001. In addition to this role, David holds board membership positions at the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute Ltd. and the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES). David also provided leadership as Chair of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) from 2011 to 2013 and served as a council member until November 2022. Before joining Shell, David was a Senior Trader at Shell Trading and Shipping Co. and held the position of Trading Manager at Shell Trading. David earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide between 1976 and 1979.
