David Altman

Executive Advisor at Center for Creative Leadership

David Altman has had an extensive and varied work experience. David began their career as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Research Associate, and Senior Research Scientist at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention. David then moved on to become a Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy and Division of Public Health Sciences at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. David also held an Adjunct Professor appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and led the Social Sciences and Health Policy Department for a few years.

After their time at Wake Forest, Altman joined the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), where they held several leadership positions. David served as the Executive Vice President, Research, Innovation, and Product Development, overseeing CCL's global research, innovation, and product development group. David then became the Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region, responsible for the regional P&L and managing a staff of 130 and 170 Associates. Altman later took on the role of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing CCL's primary regions, the Global Pursuit Sales Team, and various industry verticals. Currently, they serve as the Chief Research and Innovation Officer, overseeing global research, innovation, CCL's leadership solutions portfolio, and the future of leadership practice area. Altman is also a member of CCL's global executive team.

In addition to their roles at CCL and Wake Forest, Altman was selected as one of 40 Americans for the three-year W.K. Kellogg Foundation National Leadership Program. Their work experience spans multiple industries and areas of expertise, including research, academia, leadership development, and innovation.

David Altman obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara in 1979. David then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Ecology from UC Irvine in 1984. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in leadership and assessment from the Center for Creative Leadership.
