Joan Tao

Joan Tao currently serves as the General Counsel and Senior Director of Partnerships at the Center for Creative Leadership, where responsibilities include setting partnership strategy and securing external collaborations since February 2017. Prior experience includes roles at Syngenta as Corporate & Commercial Counsel, providing legal counsel following a significant merger in the agrochemical sector, and at Ciphergen Biosystems as Director of Business Development & Associate Counsel in the biotechnology field. Earlier in the career, Joan Tao held associate positions at Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich LLP, Shartsis Friese and Ginsburg LLP, and Shearman & Sterling, focusing on intellectual property, M&A, and securities law. Educational qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Public Policy from Duke University.
