David Horan is an Associate Economist at the Central Bank of Ireland. David has a degree in Economics and Finance from Trinity College Dublin and has been with the Central Bank of Ireland since May 2019.
David's research focuses on producing high quality research publications in the Quarterly Bulletin and other Central Bank of Ireland publications. David also supports the production of fiscal and macroeconomic forecasts through the use of statistical and econometric techniques.
In addition to their research duties, David also represents the Central Bank of Ireland as a member of the ECB’s working group tasked with appropriately harmonising the statistical and economic classification of fiscal policy measures adopted by member states in response to COVID-19.
When they are not working, David enjoys collaborating with colleagues on joint research projects and continuously improving their STATA/R/LaTeX programming skills. David is also a contributor to the Central Bank of Ireland’s Outreach Programme, grading projects and providing feedback to students and teachers as part of the Young Economist of the Year programme.
David Horan has a Master of Science (MSc) in Economic Analysis from the University of Limerick, a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) in Economics and Finance from the University of Limerick, and a Leaving Certificate from Cistercian College Roscrea.
