Karina Gaft-Azcue, CEM, currently serves as an Energy Portfolio Strategist at CET, where responsibilities include program management and commercial energy consulting. Prior experience includes founding and leading KYGA Consulting, focusing on merging sustainability with business strategy, with notable projects such as the Roadmap to NetZero Energy for Yale Appliance. Karina played a key role as an Organizer for the Lynn Community Fridge initiative and contributed as a Council Member for the Harvard Council of Student Sustainability Leaders. In a Sustainability Consultant position at Preble Rish Haiti, efforts included creating renewable energy internships and developing a sustainability action plan. Karina's journey includes leadership roles at Yale Appliance, where a roadmap for achieving Net-Zero CO2 emissions was established, and earlier positions in veterinary and research settings. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Sustainability Studies from Harvard Extension School and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brandeis University.

The Center for EcoTechnology has set an ambitious goal for 2020 through 2022 to help 115,000 people and businesses: Reduce carbon emissions equal to removing 100,000 cars off the road for a year; Keep 120,000 tons of waste out of landfills; Save energy equal to powering 35,000 homes for a year; Create $75,000,000 in lifetime savings And we’ll move the needle through innovative pilot efforts: Local carbon reduction projects; Deeper retrofits/strategic electrification; Peak load reduction; Deconstruction; And more!
