Pam Foster

Pam Foster is currently an advisor at the Center for Effective Philanthropy. Pam previously worked as an associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where they advised U.S. and non-U.S. corporate and nonprofit clients on all aspects of employment law, executive compensation, and compliance with ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, and securities laws. Pam also served on the leadership team of the firm’s Women’s Working Group. In 2003, Pam joined The Rockefeller Foundation as managing director of program operations and associate general counsel. Pam served in this role for 14 years, until 2017. During their time at The Rockefeller Foundation, Pam was responsible for the overall management and operation of the Foundation’s grantmaking programs. Pam also provided legal counsel to the Foundation on a variety of matters, including grantmaking, tax, compliance, and governance issues.

Pam Foster has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from New York Law School, and a Bachelor's Degree in Theater & Dance and Women's Studies from Trinity College-Hartford.
