Ruben Martinez currently serves as a SUD Counselor at the Center for Human Services, focusing on adolescents within the Juvenile Justice system since October 2022. Prior experience includes a student internship in Drug and Alcohol Counseling at Modesto Junior College from August 2018 to October 2022, and various roles in logistics and retail, such as Sales Attendant at Dollar Tree Stores and Forklift Driver positions at Archer Daniels Midland Company, Frito Lay/Pepsico, Staffing Network LLC, and Addeco U.S.A. Ruben studied Hotel/Restaurant Management before pursuing further education in psychology and chemical dependency counseling, with ongoing studies at California State University, Stanislaus and Modesto Junior College.
Center for Human Services (CHS)
Center for Human Services opened in 1970 as Head Rest, a drop-in center for youth who needed support. Now, with over 250 paid staff, at least 100 volunteers, and operating budget of 12 million dollars, CHS serves over 20,000 clients a year through programs in the areas of shelter, juvenile justice services, mental health counseling, school-based services, family resource centers, and substance abuse prevention and treatment. Our services continue to support the youth and families of Stanislaus County. CHS has a long history here, and we do what we can in response to the needs of our community.
