Eric Fritzler

Director of Metadata and Discovery Services at Center for Jewish History

Eric Fritzler has extensive work experience in the field of metadata and archiving. Eric started their career in 2008 as a Processing Archivist at the Reuther Library of Labor and Urban Affairs. In the same year, they also worked as an Archival Intern at Democracy Now! Productions.

In 2009, Eric joined the American Jewish Historical Society as an Archivist and held this position until 2015. During this time, they gained valuable experience in archival work.

From 2008 to 2016, Eric worked at the Center for Jewish History in various roles. Eric started as a Metadata Librarian and later became the Senior Manager for Metadata and Discovery. In 2023, they were promoted to the role of Director of Metadata and Discovery Services.

Eric Fritzler has a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and English from Western Michigan University, which they obtained in 2001. Eric then pursued a Master's degree in Philosophy at the same university from 2002 to 2004. Following that, they attended Wayne State University and obtained a Certificate in Archival Administration in 2008. From 2005 to 2008, Eric completed their Master's degree in Library and Information Science at Wayne State University. Additionally, they earned a Certificate in Information Management for Librarians from Wayne State University, which was completed by 2009.
