Sean Naftel has diverse work experience in the arts and cultural sector. Sean worked as an Exhibition Services Manager at the Center for Jewish History, where they designed and built online exhibitions and managed traveling exhibitions. Naftel was also a Co-Director and Curator at Roving Project, a gallery that brought contemporary art to communities lacking access. As an artist at Attenborough Naftel, they focused on creating immersive environments. Naftel provided freelance art handling services and managed logistics for various art projects. Sean served as a Lead Art Handler at Yeshiva University Museum, overseeing exhibition installation and deinstallation. Naftel worked as a Project Manager at Residency Unlimited Inc., managing artistic projects. Additionally, they were a Nightscreen Curator and Curatorial Advisor at Monster Truck Gallery, curating street-facing projections of screen-based contemporary art. Naftel also worked as a Project Manager at the Jewish Community Center in Washington DC, overseeing the development and installation of a national traveling exhibition.
Sean Naftel completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sculpture & Ceramics at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville from 2001 to 2003. Prior to that, in 1996, they graduated from Blue Valley High School. In 2008, Sean pursued a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Art at Burren College of Art, which they completed in 2010. In 2006, they also participated in a course on Post Colonial Identities in Jamaican Culture at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. Additionally, in 2002, they attended both Hong Kong Baptist University and Xiamen University for courses in Business, Manufacturing, and Chinese Culture.
