Shane Correia

Shane Correia has extensive work experience in various organizations and roles. Shane served as the Deputy Director of Government Partnerships at the Center for Justice Innovation, where they successfully increased local funding from $1.9 million to $6 million in government awards annually. Shane also managed a portfolio of $20 million in investments from local, state, and federal sources. Additionally, Shane participated in the Leadership New York program at the Coro New York Leadership Center, a rigorous leadership development program.

Prior to that, Shane was a partner at Passthrough, where they launched and managed a successful short-term rental business across six properties. Shane oversaw the prospecting, planning, and negotiation processes, ensuring compliance with zoning and regulatory requirements. The properties became profitable within three months and required minimal oversight once established.

Shane also gained legal experience as an Attorney at the Bronx County District Attorney Office, where they provided legal, policy, and data analysis to inform strategic decision-making. Shane managed a $6 million project portfolio and liaised with project partners and funding agencies.

In addition, Shane served as a Board Member of the New York State Juvenile Justice Advisory Group, where they oversaw the administration of funding and worked collaboratively to shape the group's strategic vision.

Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies from Hunter College between 2008 and 2010. Their education history also includes an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from The City University of New York, which they earned from 2006 to 2008. Additionally, Shane Correia has obtained a certification in Department of Justice Grants Financial Management from the Department of Justice in January 2017.
