Ileana Mendoza is an experienced professional in community engagement and youth advocacy, currently serving as the Senior Community Engagement Coordinator at the Center for Policing Equity since September 2022. Prior to this role, Ileana held various positions at the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, including Program Support Specialist and Community Manager, from August 2021. Prior experience includes working as a Juvenile Officer for the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice and as a Community Program Associate/Contract Manager at the City of New York's Administration for Children's Services. Ileana has also served as a Community Coordinator and Youth Advocate with the New York County District Attorney's Office. Earlier in the career, Ileana gained experience as a Program Assistant at Street Corner Resources Inc. and OPERATION P R I D E INC, along with an internship at the Nassau County Youth Board. Ileana holds a Master of Arts in Youth Studies from the CUNY School of Professional Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from John Jay College.
