Samantha Melo

Co-Community School Director, Water’s Edge Campus, New York at Center for Supportive Schools

Samantha Melo is Co-Community School Director working with the Water’s Edge Campus in New York City. As a Co-Community School Director, Samantha is responsible for the day-to-day management of the community school strategy in collaboration with school leadership and community partners primarily for Brooklyn International High School and will collaborate with another Water’s Edge Co-CSD to support Science Skills High School. Prior to joining the CSS team, Samantha managed the implementation of the SONYC After School Program in South Bronx and led youth programs on activism and social justice in the community. Samantha received her master’s degree in social work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and her bachelor’s degree in sociology and Spanish from the State University of New York at New Paltz.
