Sydney Blydenburgh, MSW, is a Community School Director working with New Pathways Academy/MS 594 in New York City. As a Community School Director, she is responsible for the day-to-day management of the community school strategy in collaboration with school leadership and community partners. Prior to joining CSS, Sydney was the Assistant Director of School Success at a Community School in the Bronx. Sydney has worked with Community Schools to increase student engagement by providing safe spaces for young people. She has extensive experience supporting students in temporary housing, court-involved youth and crisis counseling. She received her master’s degree in social work from The Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College with a concentration in Individual, Family and Group Counseling, and her bachelor’s degree in social work from Christopher Newport University.
