Jon Monteith

Jon Monteith, MSW, currently serves as the Director of Equity, Belonging, and Internal Communications and Senior Editor for Equity at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, where collaboration with policy experts focuses on equity-centered content. Prior experience includes positions such as Strategy and Communications Lead at the University of Washington Resilience Lab, where equity-centered programs for mental health were developed, and Direct Service Advocate at LifeWire, providing support to survivors of domestic violence. Monteith held roles in communications at organizations like the Seattle Parks Foundation, State Innovation Exchange, Mental Health Colorado, and One Colorado, emphasizing advocacy and media engagement. Earlier in the career, Monteith worked as Lead Speechwriter for the Democratic National Committee and as Press Aide in the U.S. House of Representatives. Educational qualifications include a Master of Social Work from the University of Washington and a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric, Professional Writing, and Political Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
