Sonia Quinonez

Sonia Quinonez serves as the Senior Director of Operations Planning and Initiatives for the State Fiscal Policy division at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities since April 2021, collaborating with leadership to manage team workplans and budgets. Concurrently, Sonia holds the position of Director of Strategic Grantmaking at the Northern Virginia Health Foundation, Inc. Since their tenure at the Meyer Foundation as Director of Virginia Partnerships & Strategy from June 2018 to April 2021, Sonia focused on advancing grant initiatives and collaborative relationships in Northern Virginia. Previous experience includes serving as Executive Director at SCAN of Northern Virginia, where Sonia led child abuse prevention efforts and expanded the budget significantly, as well as Director of Development at the Hispanic Committee of Virginia, enhancing fundraising and program evaluation for community services. Sonia's educational background includes a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Latin American Studies from the University of Richmond.
