Ella Parker is a Clinical Research Associate at Center on Substance Use and Health. Prior to their current role, Ella worked as a Service Coordinator at Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. and as a Peer Counselor at Community Counseling. Ella also held positions as a Graphic Designer and Political Education Trainer & Team Coordinator at IfNotNow. Additionally, Ella facilitated workshops on gender, sexuality, race, and identity as a GenSex Facilitator at GenSex DeCal(formerly FemSex). Ella is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies and Social Welfare.
Center on Substance Use and Health (CSUH)
The Center on Substance Use and Health (CSUH) works on a variety of projects with the goal of improving health among people who use substances in San Francisco. CSUH investigates pharmacologic and behavioral interventions to maximize the health outcomes of people who use alcohol, methamphetamine, opioids, and other drugs, including the reduction of HIV transmission; conducts observational studies of patients with chronic pain and opioid use; and studies substance use-related morbidity and mortality. This work complements other HIV activities at the San Francisco Department of Public Health and benefits our community by generating new prevention strategies tailored to the local epidemic.
