Steve Spears

Steve Spears currently serves as the Manager of Environmental Services at CenterPoint Energy, overseeing managed gas plants and various legacy sites, along with corporate environmental auditing and compliance for the Competitive Business Unit since February 2019. Prior to this, Spears held the position of Manager of Environmental Services at Vectren Corporation for nearly two decades, where responsibilities included managing contaminated site portfolios and developing corporate environmental policies. Previous roles include Project Geologist/Manager at Indiana Gas Company, where environmental compliance and remediation projects were managed, and Field/Staff Geologist at SES Environmental, focused on site investigations and groundwater management. Spears began professional training as a QA/QC Lab Technician at RSR, Inc. A Bachelor of Science in Geology was earned from Ball State University in 1988.
