Centexbel
Myriam Vanneste has been working at Centexbel since 1997 as the R&D manager for Textile Functionalisation & Surface Modification, leading a team of 11 people. Myriam is also a technological advisor for yarn engineering and works on R&D projects related to textile extrusion and yarn engineering. Prior to their current position, Myriam was a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven from 1994 to 1996, where Myriam focused on polymer blends for yarn extrusion applications. Myriam holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from KU Leuven, a Master's Degree in Polymer/Plastics Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology, a Master's Degree in Chemistry from KU Leuven, and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from KULAK.
Centexbel
Centexbel, the Textile Competence Centre, was founded in 1950 at the initiative of Fedustria, the Belgian professional organisation of the textile industry to reinforce the competitive position of the Belgian textile companies. Centexbel assists textile manufacturers in introducing technological innovations and in keeping an open mind to economic, social, demographic and other evolutions as well as to technical developments tacking place in other industrial sectors. These innovations and an open mind are crucial elements to survive in a globalised economy.
