James O'Sullivan

Senior Advisor To The Deputy Governor, Consumer & Investor Protection

James O'Sullivan has over a decade of experience in financial services, currently serving as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Governor, Consumer & Investor Protection at the Central Bank of Ireland since August 2012. O'Sullivan leads teams responsible for the authorisation and post-authorisation activities of investment funds and fund service providers while fostering strong stakeholder relationships. Previous roles include Funds Policy Manager and advisory positions within the Central Bank's Markets Supervision division. Prior to the Central Bank, O'Sullivan worked at Citi as part of a hedge transfer agency team and served as a Procurement Buyer at the Electricity Supply Board. O'Sullivan holds multiple degrees from University College Dublin, including a Master's in European Public Affairs and Law, a Diploma in International Financial Services Law, and a BA (Hons) in Economics and Politics.
