Kaushalya Jayathunga is a Development Officer at the Central Environmental Authority since February 2021. Prior experience includes serving as a Teaching Assistant and Assistant Researcher at the University of Peradeniya from October 2019 to February 2020 and August 2019 to October 2019, respectively. Kaushalya also worked as a Survey Analyst at the Gem and Jewelry Research and Training Institute in Kaduwela, Sri Lanka, from March 2019 to July 2019. Academic qualifications comprise a Master's degree in Environmental Science from the Postgraduate Institute of Science at the University of Peradeniya (May 2022 - October 2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Chemistry from the same university (2014 - 2018). Additional educational credentials include short courses in Human Resource Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems from the Centre for Environmental Studies at the University of Peradeniya, along with a Diploma in Information Technology and E-commerce from ESOFT Metro Campus.
