Joy Souza

Joy Souza currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer for Central Falls School District since July 2022. Prior to this role, Joy Souza was the Director in the Office of Educator Excellence and Certification at the Rhode Island Department of Education from August 2020 to July 2022. Joy Souza also held the position of Head of School for Elementary School 1 at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy from July 2018 to August 2020. Additional experience includes serving as a Novice Principal Induction Coach at the Center for Leadership and Educational Equity from 2017 to June 2020, and as an Educator Excellence Leadership Fellow at the Rhode Island Department of Education from 2017 to July 2018. Earlier in the career, Joy Souza was the Head of Middle School and a Kindergarten Teacher/Chair at Blackstone Valley Prep Mayoral Academy from July 2009 to June 2017.
