Troy Hicks

Troy Hicks is an accomplished educator and administrator at Central Michigan University, currently serving as Acting Associate Dean for the College of Education and Human Services since August 2007. In this role, Troy supports PK-12 and higher education colleagues in enhancing learning experiences through professional development focused on high-leverage teaching practices and digital literacies. As a Professor of English and Education, Troy engages with K-12 educators on implementing newer literacies and teaches courses in educational technology. Furthermore, Troy directs the Chippewa River Writing Project and has a background as a Teacher Consultant for the National Writing Project. Previous experience includes outreach coordination for the Red Cedar Writing Project at Michigan State University and teaching middle school Language Arts in Concord Community Schools. Troy holds a PhD in Teacher Education and multiple degrees from Michigan State University, including a Master's in Curriculum and Teaching and a Bachelor's in English/Language Arts Teacher Education.
