Rick Fogarty

Rick Fogarty is the VP, IT & CIO at Central Piedmont Community College. Rick was previously the Chief Information Officer at Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A. (CEENTA) from January 2016 to February 2022.

At CEENTA, Rick was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the system-wide network, storage, security, enterprise architecture and telecommunications infrastructure. Rick also oversaw and implemented an emergency telehealth option in 8 days in response to COVID-19. Rick leveraged technology to enhance enterprise value to over 20 area CEETNA clinics by providing focused, business-minded leadership and emphasizing IT's measurable contribution to business success. Rick also served as a trusted advisor and liaison, building and maintaining relationships with other senior leadership to understand business needs and ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs.

Rick was instrumental in the deployment of Epic (EHR) to all company-wide clinics, surpassing 97% of all organizations on the system. This resulted in the receipt of the prestigious 9 Gold Stars at Epic’s User Group Meeting. Rick also planned and implemented integrated data analytics platforms including the institution of a focus group and Business Intelligence (BI) committee that produced a 15% reduction in patient no shows, leading to a $1.2M annual savings.

Rick Fogarty's educational career began with a BS in Computer Science from Franklin University. Rick then went on to earn a certification in Certified Information Systems Security Professional from ISC2. After that, they earned a certification in Project Management Professional from PMI. Finally, they earned certifications in ITIL Foundations V2 and ITIL Foundations V3 from Exin.
