As a Asphalt Paving Crew Supervisor the purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in asphalt paving. Conducting pre-project and on-going job site inspections to identify and resolve safety, hazard or health concerns and employee compliance with safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel throughout Minnesota, North and South Dakota.

  • Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites.

  • Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A.

  • Acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • Previous experience leading and managing employees.

  • Experience in paving operations

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • Strong mechanical skills.

  • Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedules paving crew according to project requirements.

  • Calculates number of trucks required to haul asphalt from plant to job site.

  • Measures slope and thickness of paving mat to verify contract compliance.

  • Resolves employee issues, maintains morale, coaches and disciplines employees.

  • Investigates and reports accidents and injuries according to Company policy.

  • Completes and maintains company records and logs related to projects and employees.

  • Observes work site to ensure progress in meeting production schedule.

  • Provides training and orientation for new employees.

  • Conducts pre-project and on-going job site inspections to identify and resolve safety, hazard or health concerns and employee compliance with safety guidelines.

  • Conducts toolbox talk safety meetings.

  • Prioritize safety at all times, following company and industry safety guidelines and protocols.

  • Performs other tasks as needed.
