David M. Shonk

David M. Shonk has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology and banking sectors. David M. currently serves as the Chief Information Officer at Central State Bank since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Truist as the Software Engineering Group Head from 2019 to 2023, where they led strategy, technology, architecture, and delivery teams. At SunTrust, they held multiple roles including Enterprise API Strategy & Delivery from 2015 to 2019, where they built a scalable global delivery team and consistently managed P&L accountability. David M. also served as the Strategic Program Lead, VP from 2010 to 2015, responsible for the strategic and tactical direction of multiple complex programs. Before SunTrust, they worked at Colonial Bank as the Business Integration Manager & SOA Architect from 2006 to 2010. Earlier in their career, they held roles at United Toll Systems, Ready Built Engines & Transmissions, Computer Sciences Corporation, and Harris Corporation.

David M. Shonk has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Finance and Economics from Auburn University at Montgomery. David M. also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Troy University. In addition to their formal education, David has obtained three certifications: "Python Quick Start" and "Python Tools: Jupyter vs. PyCharm" from LinkedIn, both obtained in May 2023, and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI, though the exact date of certification is unknown.
