Ieva Zemeskalna started their work experience in 2014 as the Head of the EU Affairs Coordination Division at the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. Ieva held this role until the present, with no specified end date.
In 2015, they took a traineeship at EUROSTAT, the Statistical Office of the European Union. During this period, they were involved in various tasks related to the PHARE Multi Beneficiary Statistical Cooperation Programme, including analyzing final reports, verifying financial components, identifying incoherencies, and preparing summaries. Ieva also participated in the procedure for signing Transition Facility and PHARE Multi Beneficiary Statistical Cooperation Programme Grant agreements, where they verified application forms and technical descriptions, checked financial components, and corresponded with beneficiaries. Ieva Zemeskalna has a diverse educational background. Ieva obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology specializing in Social Psychology from Riga Stradins University between 1999 and 2003. Later, they pursued a Master's Degree in Social Sciences - Sociology from the same university, completing it from 2003 to 2005. Furthermore, they pursued another Master's Degree, this time in Total Quality Management, at Riga Technical University from 2008 to 2011.
In addition to their academic achievements, Ieva has also obtained certifications in other areas. Ieva acquired an English C1.1 certification from Skrivanek in January 2022, demonstrating their proficiency in the English language. Additionally, they obtained a driver's license from the State Road Transport Inspectorate under the Ministry of Transport and Communications in March 1999.
