Ian Govendir

Board Member at Central Ymca

Ian Govendir currently serves as Chairman of Govendir Enterprises Ltd and Head of Charity for the Tibet Relief Fund, focusing on support for Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal. With extensive experience in the charity sector, Ian also holds the position of Charity Manager at Central YMCA and serves as Chairman for Cara, where management of the board and oversight of the Director are key responsibilities. Academic contributions include being an Honorary Visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University, providing guidance on leadership development. Ian has a strong background in executive coaching through IGM Coaching and was the CEO and Founder of AiDS ORPHAN, an NGO dedicated to supporting children orphaned by HIV/AIDS in Kenya, Uganda, and India. Educational qualifications include an MA in Marketing Management from Lancaster University and a Higher National Diploma in Business and Finance from London Metropolitan University, along with a Diploma of Education from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Ian is also a Board Trustee for CSC Global Alumni and has held roles in leadership programs and various charitable organizations.
