Centre County Government
Faith R. Ryan has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Faith R. began their career at the Arc of Centre County as a Sleep Aide in 2008. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as a Shelter Supervisor at Housing Transitions, Inc/Centre House. In 2008, they also joined the Community Help Centre as a Basic Needs Case Manager and later took on the role of Crisis Hotline Trainer from 2010 to 2011. Faith joined Aetna as a Community Development Coordinator in 2013. Faith R.'smost recent role was with Centre County Government, where they served as the Director of Adult Services from 2016 to 2022 and subsequently became the Deputy Human Services Administrator/Director of Adult Services. In this capacity, they supervised multiple department heads and oversaw a substantial budget increase. Faith's work has involved various responsibilities, including program development, training, financial advocacy, and collaboration with human service-related committees and coalitions.
Faith R. Ryan began their education at Central Bucks - West where they pursued a degree in Liberal Arts from 2003 to 2005. Faith R. then attended Penn State University from 2005 to 2009, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology, International Studies, and Spanish. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they furthered their education at Penn State University and earned a Master's of Professional Studies (MPS) degree in Community and Economic Development.
Centre County Government
A fourth-class county created by an act of the State Legislature in 1800 and located in the exact geographic center of the state, Centre County’s key industries include tourism, retail, agriculture, electronics, chromatography, information technology, printing, and publishing, wood manufacturing, and education. The fifth largest PA County in geographic size, the county’s land area covers 1,110 square miles and is comprised of 35 municipalities. A three-member Board of County Commissioners performs and oversees all the County’s legislative and executive functions. With a 2022 total budget of $107.8M, the County provides administrative, criminal justice, human services, judiciary, property and tax, and public safety/emergency services to residents. The County currently employs 525 full-time employees and 42 part-time/seasonal employees.
