Sowmya Viswanathan

Sowmya Viswanathan is a prominent scientist specializing in anti-inflammatory cell-based therapies, particularly next-generation mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapies and immunotherapies, with extensive experience at the University Health Network since July 2019. As a co-chair of the Cell Therapy Stakeholder Group with Health Canada, Sowmya plays a critical role in facilitating dialogues between stakeholders and government regulators. Additionally, Sowmya serves as an elected liaison with ISO's Technical Committee on Biotechnology and holds positions such as Associate Editor for Cytotherapy and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.
