Silke Jacques currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Rumin8 since September 2021 and holds the position of Research Fellow at the Centre for Crop and Disease Management since May 2019, focusing on Wild Chickpea Genomics. Prior roles include Senior Research Officer at the Centre for Crop & Disease Management - Curtin University and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CSIRO. Silke's academic background features a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biotechnology from Ghent University and earlier educational achievements in microbiology and plant biotechnology. Significant contributions include research on oxidative stress in A. thaliana and the toxicity mechanisms of serpin-1 against pea aphids.
Centre for Crop and Disease Management
Established in 2014, the CCDM has been recognised for its contribution to industry, and national research excellence, with a funding extension from the GRDC through until mid-2022.
