Giovanni Magno

Ricercatore (rtda) / Research Fellow at Politecnico di Bari

Giovanni Magno is a Research Fellow at Politecnico di Bari since December 2020, specializing in the design of dielectric and plasmonic optical devices for applications in optical interconnection, sensing, and photovoltaics. Previously, Giovanni held the position of Postdoctoral Researcher at C2N - CNRS - Université Paris-Sud from June 2015 to December 2020, and served as a Researcher PhD Student at Politecnico di Bari from January 2012 to May 2015. Giovanni's research includes designing photonic bandgap devices such as mesoscopic photonic crystal-based self-collimated waveguides, mirrors, and cavities. Additionally, Giovanni was a Visiting Researcher at LAAS-CNRS from May 2013 to March 2014, focusing on novel optical devices utilizing the mesoscopic self-collimation phenomenon in Photonic Crystal structures. Giovanni holds a Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Elettronica with a specialization in Telecommunications from Politecnico di Bari.
