Peter Stienen

Peter Stienen is a seasoned professional in translational research, currently serving as a Translational Research Manager at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) since June 2015. Stienen specializes in bridging the gap between basic research and commercialization by collaborating with the scientific community and industry stakeholders to identify business opportunities and partnerships. Previously, Stienen held roles as a Senior Scientist at AstraZeneca, developing translational models for drug discovery, and as a Section Manager at Ferrer Internacional S.A., overseeing pharmacological research teams. Stienen's earlier experience includes positions at Sensocom B.V. and the University of Utrecht, where research focused on electrophysiology and pain/anxiety. Stienen earned a PhD CUM LAUDE in Biological Sciences from Utrecht University and a Master’s degree in Biology from Radboud University.
