Augusta Zeeng is an experienced education professional currently serving as the MY Education Project Officer and acting Team Leader at the Centre for Multicultural Youth since April 2020. With a robust background, Augusta has worked as a freelance education consultant since January 2012, collaborating with institutions like Newlands Primary School to develop civics and citizenship curricula focused on environmental sustainability and contributing to the Human Rights Art and Film Festival. Prior roles include Project Manager for Professional Learning Programs and acting Executive Officer at Social Education Victoria from January 2013 to October 2019, and Education Officer at Australian Teachers of Media. Augusta's earlier teaching experiences span secondary education and university lecturing. The Centre for Multicultural Youth is a Victorian not-for-profit organisation supporting young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds to build better lives in Australia. Through a combination of specialist support services, training and consultancy, knowledge sharing and advocacy, we are working to remove the barriers young people face as they make Australia their home. Our activities include: * Providing direct one-to-one support for young people with family, housing, education and employment issues. * Delivering leadership programs that offer young people opportunities to contribute to Australian society. * Providing training, professional development and consultancy services for organisations to work more effectively with young people. * Building research evidence and sharing our knowledge. * Providing evidence-based policy advice and advocacy to decision makers at local, state and national levels.
