Ryan Thompson is an experienced career development professional with a diverse background in employment services. Currently serving as a Newcomer Career Specialist at The Centre for Skills Development & Training since July 2013, Ryan provides comprehensive assistance in job search techniques, including resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and labour market navigation. Previously, Ryan held the position of Employment Advisor, utilizing Motivational Interviewing and Solution-Focused counseling methods to support clients in identifying and achieving their work-related goals. Prior roles include Case Manager at VPI Working Solutions, where Ryan managed a significant caseload and facilitated career planning, and Employment Resources Assistant at YMCA of Hamilton|Burlington|Brantford, providing guidance and conducting workshops for clients. Ryan holds an Honours degree in Sociology from McMaster University, earned from 1993 to 1997.
