Alison Biscoe is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in programme development and capacity building within the human rights and sports sectors. Currently serving as the Head of Programme Development and Capacity Building at the Centre for Sport and Human Rights since January 2019, Alison has been instrumental in establishing and managing programmes related to mega-sporting events while fostering stakeholder relationships and enhancing human rights capacity. Prior roles include Project Coordinator at the Institute for Human Rights and Business and Project Manager at the Principles for Responsible Investment, where Alison focused on multi-stakeholder coalitions and investor engagements on human rights and ESG issues. Alison's early career involved teaching figure skating and providing research and translation services across various organizations, complemented by a solid educational foundation in International Relations from the University of Nottingham and Sciences Po.

Launched in June 2018, the Centre for Sport and Human Rights brings together an unprecedented alliance of intergovernmental organisations, governments, sports bodies, athletes, hosts, sponsors, broadcasters, civil society representatives, trade unions, employers and their associations, and national human rights institutions. Based in Geneva, the Centre works towards a world of sport that fully respects human rights by sharing knowledge, building capacity, and strengthening the accountability of all actors through collective action. The Centre is chaired by Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and hosted by the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB).
