Joe Smucny

Joe brings a variety of executive management experience, offering leadership to Centric’s operations and empathy for client executives.

He most recently served as Chief Information Officer at Cuyahoga Community College, Ohio’s first and largest community college. His responsibilities included the development of the vision and management of operations for all facets of IT at the college’s seven locations, which serves more than 40,000 students.

Prior positions include co-founding and serving as COO of an IT support services firm that focused on higher education, government, and nonprofits. He was also the vice president of operations for a regional IT management consulting firm and worked at Accenture where he served Global 100 clients with a focus on supply chain management and ERP implementations.

Joe’s closest friends know him to be a huge Cleveland fan, a hometown boy and self-proclaimed polka king. He was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and is committed to his region’s economic and workforce development. Joe provides leadership through several nonprofit boards. He enjoys coaching, fitness and the outdoors.
