Wei Z.

Founder and CEO at Centrillion Technologies

Wei Z. has extensive experience in the biotechnology industry, beginning in 1992 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Emory University School of Medicine, where they researched colon cancer and coded early internet applications and bioinformatics software. In 1996, Wei Z. became a Summer Associate and Part-time Associate for Affymetrix, a startup pioneering very high density DNA chips. In 1997, Wei Z. joined Pennie & Edmonds, now Jones Day, as an Associate Attorney, where they read lab notebooks, board meeting minutes, and communications among founders of the industry. In 1999, Wei Z. joined Affymetrix, Inc. as the SVP of Advanced Technology and Intellectual Property, where they witnessed the growth of Affymetrix from a startup to an industry leading public company. In 2008, Wei Z. became a Partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich and Rosati. In 2012, Wei Z. joined Covington & Burling as a Senior Advisor. In 2016, Wei Z. co-founded Sentieon as an Advisor. In 2021, Wei Z. became the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Chimera Therapeutics, which develops therapies for a wide spectrum of indications from autoimmune diseases to cancers. In 2009, Wei Z. founded Centrillion Technology, Inc., which focuses on advancing DNA chip technology which has applications in genomics, synthetic biology, DNA based computing, and data storage.

Wei Z. received a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1998, followed by a General Management Program from Harvard Business School in 2007. Wei also obtained a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 1992.
