Susana Antunes has extensive experience in leadership and management roles within the healthcare and non-governmental organization sectors. Currently serving as President at Na Rota dos Povos ONGD since January 2010, Susana also holds the position of Técnico Superior at Centro Hospitalar São João and has been involved with ARSNorte - Administração Regional de Saúde do Norte since August 2010 in a management capacity. Prior to these roles, Susana was the Managing Director at mds insurance broker (Sonae Group) from January 1997 to February 2009. Susana's academic background includes a Pós-Graduação in Gestão e Direcção de Serviços de Saúde from Universidade do Porto and an Executive MBA in Insurance Management from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, alongside foundational education at Atlântico Business School.

University Hospital Center of São João (UHCSJ) is the third largest Portuguese Hospital and a reference in the northern part of the country. It includes the polo of Porto and the polo of Valongo and has a workforce of more than 5000 workers.
