Rafael Blesa

Rafael Blesa, MD PhD, serves as the Director of the Neurology Department at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau since 2003 and has been a Neurologist in private practice at Hospital Quirón Teknon since 1995. Previously, Rafael Blesa held the position of Chief of the Memory and Alzheimer Unit and Attending Physician in the Department of Neurology at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona from 1982 to 2003, and also worked as a Clinical Instructor at Universitat de Barcelona during the same period. Rafael Blesa contributed to research as an Invited Scientist at the National Institutes of Health from 1989 to 1992. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a Doctor of Philosophy focusing on experimental models of parkinsonism from Universitat de Barcelona, along with a Neurology Residency at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
