Mikel Iribas

Mikel Iribas is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of renewable energy, currently serving as the R&D Service Head at the Wind Energy Department of Centro Nacional de Energías Renovables (CENER) since September 2004. In this role, Mikel coordinates teams focused on Aerodynamic, Structural, Offshore, Control, and Materials. Mikel has also held the position of Head of Control Area at CENER and served as an Associate Professor responsible for Control Engineering at Universidad Publica de Navarra from 2003 to 2006. Prior to these roles, Mikel worked at AIN - Asociación de la Industria Navarra as the Responsible for Instrumentation and Control for UAVs. Mikel holds a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Control from Universidad Pública de Navarra and a degree in Industrial Engineering, specializing in Automation and Control, from the same institution.

The National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) is a technology centre, specialised in applied research and in the development and promotion of renewable energies. It has excellent qualifications and recognised national and international prestige. The CENER-CIEMAT Foundation started its activity in 2002 and its Board of Trustees is comprised of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Ciemat (Research Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology), the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, and the Government of Navarra.
