Lifeng Lin

Lifeng (Phil) Lin is a highly experienced bioinformatics professional with a strong background in scientific leadership and data analysis. Currently serving as Principal Scientist - Bioinformatics at Cepheid since October 2020, Lifeng leads a team to develop and maintain bioinformatics infrastructure while implementing innovative design processes. Previously held positions include Data Scientist III at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Staff Scientist - Panel Design Lead at Paragon Genomics, and Staff Scientist - Bioinformatics at Thermo Fisher Scientific. Lifeng's earlier experience includes a significant tenure at Nanosphere, where contributions focused on the development of bioinformatics tools for multiplex nucleic-acid-based assays, as well as a foundational role as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Georgia, where Lifeng specialized in plant genomics. Lifeng holds a PhD in Plant Genomics from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Fudan University.
