Luca Ricci is a distinguished researcher and academic with extensive experience in economics. Currently serving as a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research since December 2019, Luca has held multiple high-level roles at the International Monetary Fund since 1996, including Division Chief and Mission Chief. Additionally, Luca teaches on "Assessing External Imbalances" at the Geneva Graduate Institute, maintaining a strong academic presence through visiting professor roles in international finance at various institutions. Previous experience includes serving as Managing Director and Head of International Economic Research at Barclays Capital and conducting research in international economics at the University of Konstanz. Luca holds a PhD in International Economics from The Graduate Institute of Geneva, a visiting fellowship in Economics from Harvard University, and a laurea in Economics from Sapienza Università di Roma.
