Sébastien Barradeau

Global Head of Medical Device at Cerba Research

Sébastien Barradeau has extensive work experience in the field of biopharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Sébastien has held various roles in different companies, starting with their current position as Global Head of Medical Device at Cerba Research since 2022. Previously, from 2017 to 2021, they worked at DIAGAST as Director of R&D.

Prior to that, Sébastien worked at Genomic Vision from 2008 to 2017, serving as Director of Research and Product Development. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the research team and managing the R&D activities related to the development of In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices. Sébastien also played a key role in identifying strategic new products and establishing research programs.

Prior to Genfit, Sébastien was a Project Leader at Obetherapy Biotechnology from 2003 to 2005, where they worked on identifying therapeutic targets for obesity and type II diabetes. Sébastien also worked at Aventis from 2001 to 2003 as a Post Doctoral Researcher and Project Leader, concentrating on genomics and developing molecular tools for identifying genetic markers for inflammatory and metabolic pathologies.

Sébastien's career in research began at the Institut Pasteur, where they worked as a PhD student from 1994 to 1998. During this time, they focused on the expression and role of the type I alpha regulatory subunit of the cAMP-dependent protein kinase.

Sébastien Barradeau has an extensive education history in the field of biology and genetics. Sébastien obtained their Doctorate degree from Université Paris Cité, specializing in Biology, in the years 1995 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed a DEA (Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies) in Human Genetics at the same institution from 1994 to 1995. Sébastien also holds a License and Master's degree in Applied Biology and Genetics, which they earned from Université Paris Cité from 1992 to 1994.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Sébastien has obtained a certification in "Les fondements de Six Sigma" from LinkedIn in March 2022.
