Eric Sather

Eric Sather currently serves as the Technical Lead Manager in Applied Machine Learning at Cerebras Systems since September 2024. Prior to this role, Sather was a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Rivian from October 2023 to September 2024 and held the position of Fellow at Perceive from October 2018 to October 2023, focusing on research and development in machine learning theory. Sather's extensive experience also includes time as a Principal Engineer at Tessera and a Principal Software Engineer at Intel Corporation, where significant contributions included the development of a retiming algorithm for circuit optimization. Earlier in Sather's career, notable roles included Distinguished Engineer at Tabula, overseeing placer and routing teams, and Principal Engineer at Actel Corporation, where Sather led teams in algorithm development for placement and physical synthesis. Eric Sather earned a Ph.D. in Theoretical Particle Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an A.B. in Physics from the University of Chicago.
