Maria Spyropoulou

Maria Spyropoulou is a skilled computational linguist currently working at Cerence Inc. since December 2021, where Maria leads the Greek team within the ASR and NLU departments, focusing on AI-powered automotive assistants. Prior to this, Maria held positions such as Speech Systems Analyst at Eckoh, where Maria designed and tuned IVR solutions, and Project Manager at AMPLEXOR International, overseeing language localization projects. Their career also includes roles as a Translator/Proofreader and Research Assistant, contributing to significant projects in speech recognition and communication. Maria has a strong background in linguistics, holding a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Processing from Trinity College Dublin and a Bachelor’s Degree in Greek Language with a specialization in Linguistics from the University of Patras.
