Andy Spurr

Andy Spurr is a highly experienced legal professional specializing in intellectual property (IP) matters. Currently serving as Head Patent Counsel at Ceres since November 2022, Andy oversees IP asset creation and joint IP issues, ensuring compliance within a FTSE-listed IP licensing environment. Previously, Andy worked as a European Patent Attorney at Canon EMEA, contributing innovative perspectives on IP's influence on commercial strategies. Prior to that, Andy was a Managing Associate at Mathys & Squire LLP, where extensive client engagement and mentorship of junior attorneys were key responsibilities. The journey commenced with a technical and legal focus on complex patent issues in various roles at Mathys & Squire, as well as an internship at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, where a report on solar technologies was authored. Andy holds an MPhys degree in Physics from the University of Oxford.
