LHC Engineer In Charge

Benoit Salvant is an experienced LHC Engineer in Charge and Accelerator Physicist at CERN since September 2006, where responsibilities include chairing the CERN Impedance Working Group and managing information for the CERN Crisis Management Team. Previous roles include serving as a COFUND fellow responsible for improving the performance of the LHC particle accelerator complex through theoretical, computational, and experimental studies, and as a doctoral student focused on collective effects studies for the LHC. Prior experience includes project management and research at Michelin, where Benoit led a €1 million research project on tire performance, as well as internships at Daimler, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, CEA, and Bayer. Benoit holds a PhD in Engineering Physics from EPFL and a Diplome d'ingenieur in Engineering Physics and Chemistry from ESPCI Paris - PSL, supplemented by an International Diploma from Imperial College London in Electrical Engineering and Management.
