Kārlis Dreimanis

Team Leader Of The CMS Latvia Group at CERN

Kārlis Dreimanis is an Associate Professor and Director of the Institute of Particle Physics and Accelerator Technologies at Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte since January 2020, with additional roles as Senior Researcher and Director of the Centre of High-Energy Physics and Accelerator Technologies. Simultaneously, Kārlis serves as Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader of the CMS Latvia Group at CERN. Prior to these positions, Kārlis was a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Liverpool, focusing on testing and quality assurance procedures for silicon pixel sensors in the VELO upgrade at LHCb from October 2017 to January 2020. During a Ph.D. at the University of Liverpool, Kārlis worked as the trigger liaison for the QEE physics working group at CERN and also completed a long-term attachment there. The educational background includes a Ph.D. in Physics and an MPhys with Honours, both from the University of Liverpool.
