Vickie Allen

Vickie Allen started their career in 2010 as a Sales Assistant at Poundland, where they worked on the shop floor and tills, eventually taking on supervisory duties. In 2012, they joined Aviva plc as a Trainee Oracle Developer, where they worked for 10 months and gained experience in Aviva's financial systems. Vickie then moved on to Liftshare.com in 2013, initially working as a Junior Web Developer and later joining the team supporting Liftshare Business as a Web Developer. At Liftshare.com, they worked on bug fixes, small changes, and maintenance of the consumer site and white-labeled solutions for clients.

In 2016, Vickie joined Brandex Group as a Web Developer, where they collaborated with a team to create custom Content Management Systems for clients in various sectors such as Insurance, Healthcare, and Leisure. Vickie utilized Umbraco, MVC, C#, Angular, and SCSS for development and used SVN for source control and Trello for project management. Vickie also worked as a Software Developer at Proteo UK during this time, contributing to the development of new features and integrations for various products, and worked with technologies like Angular, Angular Js, C#, Xamarin, Ionic, SQL, Google Firestore, and legacy technologies such as ASP.NET/WebForms.

From 2019 to 2021, Vickie served as a Software Developer at Brisk, an InsurTech startup, where they worked as a full-stack developer on feature development and integrations. Vickie played a key role in projects including online payments, API testing framework implementation, white-labeling the product, and developing custom portals and marketplaces. Vickie utilized technologies such as Angular with Typescript & SCSS, .NET Core API, and MySQL.

Currently, Vickie holds the position of Senior Software Developer at Certua, where they are part of the UX team. Their main responsibilities include developing and maintaining Certua's embeddable insurance and open banking components. Vickie works with technologies such as Angular, Typescript, NgRx, Bootstrap, SCSS, and Lit Element. Additionally, they also continue to maintain and develop Brisk's .NET Core API.
