Monica Garcia

Chief financial officer for Related Cervera Realty Services (RCRS) since 2003, and now holding that office as part of the Executive Team at Cervera Real Estate (CRE), Monica A. Garcia has extensive experience in the world of business and operations management, with the last dozen years spent in senior roles of authority. In her current position with CRE, her responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing systemwide organizational budgets; decision making and subsequent implementation of new accounting software programs; overseeing the processing of rental transactions; ensuring the payment of all general and administrative expenses; and maintaining a detailed and effective audit trail of associate charges to ensure proper applications to and deductions from commission disbursements.

Having covered the spectrum of responsibilities inherent to the CFO position throughout her career, Mrs. Garcia has mastered the full complement of skills in proficiencies such as: establishment and deployment of policies and procedures; sales; audit and compliance; administrative and accounting protocols; and reporting for both domestic and international entities. Her commitment and dedication to her career and profession have earned her such awards as Outstanding CFO and Executive of the Year.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Mrs. Garcia holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Miami, with a major in Accounting and a minor in Computer Information Systems. She was the recipient of numerous prestigious scholarships, such as the AICPA and the J. F. Pearson Academic Scholarship, and consistently appeared on the Dean's List and the President and Provost's Honor Roll. While attending university, she recognized the critical importance of being actively involved in her community, and in addition to serving on the performance and membership committees of Alpha Kappa Psi (a professional business fraternity), she was actively involved in the Beta Alpha Psi honorary fraternity, serving on the social and auditing committees, and also as chapter historian and chair, Fundraising and Publicity Committee. She remains committed to philanthropic endeavors through contributions of her time and efforts to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) organization, which provides income tax preparation assistance to low-income, elderly, disabled and limited English speaking people; Best Buddies; and Habitat for Humanity. She is also extremely active with the University of Miami's School of Business Administration Mentor Program, in which upper class undergraduates and graduate students are partnered with local professionals for specialized guidance and overall career preparation assistance.
